Pilates Body, Pilates Mind

Whether old or young, flexible or tight, strong or weak, fit or wanting to be more fit every body can do and benefit from Pilates.

Why Pilates?

The benefits of Pilates include increased lung capacity, as well as improved circulation, coordination, posture, balance, bone density and joint health. Pilates is ideal for those who are looking for a gentle way to begin getting stronger, as it is individualized for each client and it’s also an ideal support for athletes who participate in other sports.

Hi! I'm Jennifer Simpson.

I was a newcomer to Pilates in 2015 when I sought out a Pilates studio with goals of reducing chronic joint pain and building strength and flexibility. Regular practice soon produced results and I was hooked!

I completed my Pilates instructor training through Peak Pilates and hold comprehensive
certification with over 500 hours of training on all apparatus, including mat, reformer, Cadillac, chairs and barrels. Peak is a classical school of Pilates, following the teachings of Joseph Pilates with attention to the goals and order of exercises as he intended them in order to maximize the benefit to the body.
What I love most about Pilates is that it is meant for everyone, and everyone is welcome in my studio. I am excited about helping others to experience the benefits of Pilates and hope to guide my students toward the confidence and sense of well-being that comes from quality practice.

Pilates & Longevity

Pilates has become a popular form of exercise for our aging population due to its gentle, individualized nature and its benefits of flexibility, strength and bone and joint health.

Effective in a short amount of time...10, 20, 30 sessions

Using the Pilates Principles of Concentration, Centering, Control, Breathing, Precision and Flowing Movement, students progress through the exercises, delving deeper into the work as they gain proficiency. With consistent practice, students experience the benefits of longer, leaner muscles, improved strength and control, and a more flexible spine.

Pilates Equipment

Reformer

The Cadillac / Trapeze Table

The Combo Chair

The High Ladder Barrel

Other small equipment and accessories such as the Spine Corrector, barrels, balls, Therabands, straps, wedges and light weights are used to modify and deepen the work. These items can help a student find success when struggling with a certain motor pattern, or challenge a student to work deeper and harder on patterns they have already mastered.

    Advantages of One-on-One

One-on-One Pilates lessons provide a highly individualized, personal experience every time. With your instructor’s eyes on you alone, you will receive cues, corrections, and positive feedback specific to your body. For students with injuries or limitations, a One-on-One lesson allows for modifications and fine-tuning of movements to achieve the exercise goals without causing aggravation or irritation.
